Somebody do me a big favor and run out to their V8 powered CJ7 and tell me if the driverside frame mount bracket is bolted into the forward holes or the ones further back on the framerail.
the more i look at this goofy thing, the more i think the engine sits cockeyed in the bay. It was really brought to my attention when i went to bolt up the tranny mount to the skidplate and it was shifted over to the driver side considerably. Standing on the framerails, looking down on the motor, it looks like it heads off towards the driver-side rear tire. #-o

Ahh the bling.....i cant see past the bling :glasses2:
I see you have them mounted forward.
At anyrate, it bugged me so much i went out and jacked up the engine, removed the framemount, elongated the holes for the rubber mount and moved the frame bracket to the rear mounting holes. Set the engine back down and shifted the whole works over a bit. looks much better, and bright side is the rubber mount is actually centered on the framemount now instead of sitting partially off the backside.
Near as i can tell, by running a straightedge across the crankpulley and compareing each side of the straightedge to the corresponding framerail, it appears "straight".
Cant tell i got time on my hands today
