Throttle Linkage

Hey, I just put on a Performer intake & carb, how did you guys get your throttle linkage to hook up. I also have the TH400 Kick Down by my pedal, seems when I have the linkage hooked up one way, the throttle will open 100% but the pedal won't touch the kick down, and when adjusted another way the kick down is hit but the throttle only opens 50%. Thanks in advance for the advice. -Dave

Edelbrock makes an adapter - It's part # 1473 that will make the AMC cable reach. I think it was under $15. It's what I used on my AMX. Bob tufcj

I have always slotted the bracket. See if you can change to the farthest hole on the pump in the front of the carb.

I bought a univeral throttle bracket at the local parts store. It's adjustable and bolts to the back bolt of the carburetor.

made one from 3/16 plate that uses the stock holes on the performer - but I don't have the auto tranny ... yet :wink:

I did the same, and it will work just great... once I get a shorter throttle cable 🙁:. Its no biggie since right now its startable and able to move around the driveway and yard. I have some other things to complete first before I get to caught up in this anyway. Anyone else end up getting a shorter cable too?

I have a 'drip loop' in mine #-o It's about 6" too long so I just looped it around and fed it thru the bracket. I need a new one thou since this one was damaged in the fire and it's kinda melted :idea: 111!!! But it WORKS!!!! :!:
