390 crank in 360 block

Anyone out there have a cut and dried recipe for using a 390 crankshaft in a 360 block? I am also thinking of turning the journals to 2.100" for SBC con rods, anybody have a recipe for this?

i think the chevy rods are narrower and need to have material added to get the right side clearance between them

The main webs on the newer 360 blocks isn't as thick as the old 360/401 blocks. You will have to notch the bottom of the cylinder walls for rod clearance (it was done at the factory on 390/401 blocks).

Yeah, I have a '73 block, actually 3 '73 blocks and a '70 block. And a '74 401, and '75 401, and '78 401....maybe soon a '69 390; fingers crossed. :!:
