Priming info. AMC 401 new Bull Tear Cover.
I haven't got there yet but was wondering. When I start to prime the oil pump in the engine do I need to do anything other than oil to start it. I have heard of using vasoline or grease to jump start to operation. What do you guys recomend? :-|

You should prime it and not use petrolium jelly. You can prime it using a old distributor. PJ can lead to bloated filters, stuck relief valves.

That I can do. I have an old distributor and will prime away. Got my new timing cover. Boy am I glad I replaced the old one. :lo1l: Comparing I found more wear than I had originally thought. =D>
Just need by dizzy and gear set and I will be ready to reassemble! :!:
