Hi all,
All that I have been reading tells me that I need to switch my fuel lines to the left side of the frame for this swap. I have a 258 in there right now. The guy I'm buying the 360 is out of an 89 wagoneer. He works at a 4x4 shop and is telling my that I don't have to move my fuel lines to the left side. Can anyone confirm this for me. When I asked him about this he looked at me like I was stupid! Please help!

someone did the same swap with a 258 to a 304 in my jeep and all they did was run a rubber line from the feed line to the fuel pump and from the return line to the filter. switching the lines isn't necessary if you can route a rubber line to the right spots

Like ironman_gq You could just route the fuel line from the passenger side to the drivers side. There are multiple ways to do it, you could either run a hard line, or rubber line, up over the Motor, Or i like to go around the front of the frame under the radiator. This way the fuel line is away from the exhaust manifolds

Use an electic pump, put it on the passenger side. Mount the pump just behind the front seat on the frame with a filter just in front of the pump. Run the line up to the passenger side fuel inlet on an Edelbrock 1406, or the passenger side fuel inlet on any of several Holley carbs.
The electric pump will help with vapor lock issues and will not blow a rubber seal that will leak fuel directly into timing cover and the crankcase. Been there, done that.

I think it's better to leave the lines in the right and extend them to the fuel pump, or use an electric pump. If you're extending, use as much steel and as little rubber line as possible, less chance of failure.
I actually moved mine to the right rail when I went to EFI because I wanted the lines as far as possible from the exhaust, which runs down the left. Mine had vapor lock problems withthe stock V8 lines on the left rail.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll keep 'em where they're at and extend. I thought about running exhausts off both side of the rails but now thats not going to happen! I like what tufcj said as I'll probably go EFI too.
