I'm working on getting my built 74 AMC 360 back together. When I put it in, I was thinking of bypassing the mechnical pump and covering the timing cover hole. Before i ran an electric pump to assist (and prime) the mechnical. Does anyone have experience using fully electric systems that can recommend a reliable, inexpensive inline pump? Before I used a $40 carquest pump, but had issues under high RPMs off the belly tanks. I used the gravity assist roof tanks when I was really working the deep mud.
The engine has a Edelbrock preformer intake and 600cfm carb, the summit 214/224 cam, roller timing gear, full MSD Ign, coil, and dist., Crane gold chevy 1.6 roller rocker arms, high volume oil pump. Is bored .40 over. It pushed about 200 to 210 last time I was running it. I'm hoping to get up to 220 with the valve training and flow improvements I'm making. But it starts with reliable fuel flow!
