I have an '85 J20 that has a weak 360 in it.
I have a 70 or 71 model 360 that has the 291c heads. I plan to rebuild this motor for towing.
I have a torker, an SP2P, a performer, an Offy 360, an R4b, and a holly pattern cast intake from a 401. Which would you choose?
Fuel injection or carb ?
What cam ? I was thinking of Doug Herberts smaller cam :
RPM Range: 1000-5000
Advertised Duration: 265/275
Duration @ .050: 205/215
Lift: .450/.475
Lobe Center: 110c
Would this work with fuel injection ?
Plan to do the oil mods.
Running a TF727 and 4.10 gears with 32.5" tires. 2 1/2" dual exhaust, no cat. TFI coil fired by a GM HEI module. Edelbrock shorty headers.
Other suggestions welcome.
Thanks,

Hey James!
That Camshaft is very small and you would be better suited with a cam in the 210-222 @.050 and 472-489 range for that motor. Definately the performer is teh best choice for wat you want to do with that motor. I would look to howel fuel injection. Defiantely some oiling mods like smaller hole cam bearings and make sure the pump is in good condition.
