360 vs 401

ok here it is- have a 1970 360 and a 1976 401- Both need to be rebuilt- Going in a jeep w/ 1 tons and lots of gearing- I know the 360 in that year is pretty beefed but which should I build? If I build them to pretty much stock specs, which do you guys suggest? I'm thinkin 401 but I want the amc junkies to tell me if I'm wrong- thanks

Build the 401 using the 360 heads...smaller combustion chamber single rockers #3196291 (heads) and you will gain in compression.
