Hi all,
Thanks for the great site tons of info in here.
Scott From RBS turned me onto this site last spring and I am just getting around to joining.
Currently I am running a 304 with Edelbrock MPI in my Rock buggy.
The specs for the rig are as follows.
304
TF999 with manual shift body and more mods then I know about. (lucky for me Culhans Race trans is just down the street, they do Robby Gordons stuff and know the 999 from the Mike leslie class 7 jeep car from the 90's)
D300 with the 4-1 gear set
HP 60 rear end with all the goodies
D 44 front with CTM's, cryo treated warn shafts and ARB.
38" toyos

I am getting ready to start a new motor build and hope to learn a thing or two from you guys. I am far from a gear head when it comes to motors. This will be my first complete V8 build.
I hope to have it completed for the Moab Easter Jeep safari, I should say I will have it completed :t: I have a complete 360 long block But I am considering a 401 if I can locate one at a reasonable price.
The best thing about having an AMC motor in my buggy is that I have only seen one other AMC V8 powered buggy. It is funny as hell to watch people try and figure out what MPI motor I have in it and then listen to them tell me I should have gone chevy because it is better, Yea right!
With this build I hope to be able to add the wanna race? To my reply so I can show them another reason I went AMC.
I am located in So. Cal. 2 hours from Johnson Valley. Home of the Hammers.
