Edelbrock 600cfm - which jet size

Hi, Does anyone know what are the best jet sizes (for primaries and secondaries) to use with an Edelbrock Performer Carb on my CJ-7's engine, considering I live at 9800 feet of altitude and have the following stuff installed: AMC 360 V8 Edelbrock Heads Eedelbrock Performer Manifold, Cam and Lifters Edelbrock Performer Carb 600 cfm - Electric Choke Edelbrock Shorty Headers Also, what is the ideal timing advance for this setup? Thanks for any info!

I would think you would experiment with metering rods before jets on Edelbrock style carbs. Theory says you will need a leaner mixture and more timing than a more reasonable altitude. The only way to get your setup the way you like it is to tune yourself, every combination is different.

Yes, but I need some starting point from theory. I know my carb came with 1.00 and .95 jets from the factory and I have leaned it because of the altitude I live to .95 an .92. But... now that I installed the Edelbrock Heads, I don't know if I should increase the size of the jetsor not

Buy the tuning kit and read the book, no one can tell you what will work for your engine and combination without doing it first. The eddy carbs are good but they need considerable tuning in most cases, hankrod

Its working out good allthough I havent drivin it for a while. The slippery roads are a pain when the power comes on. The 1500 HP sounds great but I think is more like 600 right now. Happy Holidays, Hankrod
