Are there any differences between a '79 manual v8 CJ-7 and a '79 automatic v8 CJ-7 as far as dash and engine wiring harness' are concerned?
I need a new dash harness and engine harness and need to know what years and options I'm limited to in order to get the EXACT harness I need without splicing, cutting, having unnecessary unused connectors, etc (yes I'm anal).
I also do not want to go the painless route, just to get that out of the way
I'm thinking there may be some sort of neutral safety switch on the auto's, and some kind of clutch switch on the manuals. These might be on models after '80 though, not sure. Any help is appreciated greatly.

HAving owned both an auto CJ7 and a stick, the dash wiring is the same from what I have seen. The only difference is like you said in the under dash kit - has the wires for the auto neutral switch - comes down from the center of the firewall and goes back. That's all I remember seeing different!
