I have been talking to the machine shop on my 401. He is wanted to know if I had adjustable rockers for my engine. I need to replace the originalls as they are badley worn.
First what is a recommended replacment rocker? And how do you handle the difference in height once the valve is reground? Or should I replace all the valves. This is a near stock rebuild for offroand use. Pistons .30 over. I was thinking of getting a performer cam or the RV. Possibly upgrade the intake manifold and carb.
Thanks :sa:

Valve grinds have little to nothing to do with the rocker placement and depedning on which heads you have you may need bridged rockers. Please post the casting number off the top of the head its 7 digits

Thats what I thought. I went back today and now he is saying that it is not a problem? Getting worried here? I forgot to get the casting number. #-o It orignally had the rockers with the aluminum bridge between the intake and exhaust. The rockers were bolted on a pedestal.
I will get it tomorrow. #-o
