Forged Pistons!!! Increased compression ratios

I'll be loking for some ~9.5:1 for my 401. Not sure of bore size yet... Will these be for floating pins?

Hello. I would be needing: ----------------------------------------- 1/16" top rings & 3/16" oil ring. Machined for floating pins & double locks. Pressure fed pin oilers. Flat tops with either no valve reliefs or authentic AMC reliefs, so there would be 2 part number, one for L & one for R. Thick dome for nitrous or boost would be nice feature. The best aluminum material practical. Anti-friction coating on the skirt would be nice. Machined oil drainback holes. No Jap or Chinese parts, please (Wiseco). ----------------------------------------- What companies are you looking at? Bill Miller, Venolia, & JE would be a few I would look at. BRB

If anyones interested I can send my build sheet for my JE pistons, they have 401 AMC in their computer system now. I was told my set was the first they have built in years. Cost for me was around 1200 dollars but that was a custom piston price, having made a set now ,maybe they are not. Jeff

i would be interested in flat tops for a 360amc 30 thou bore with valve reliefs .i,m running high comp heads shaved @ approx 9.4/9.5 to 1 now and would like to get 10.2-10.5 comp.+rings ..cheers :!:

I would be looking for 9.0-9.5 CR .010 over 360 with coatings.... for the Jeep and coated in the 8.5-9.0 range for the Javvy (for use with Hairdryers) JON

No actually 'WE' were half asleep on our feet when reading this thread and hence didn't notice the dates... Do you know what an ORI is??? It's this futile excersize in which you stay up all day, maybe 72 hours getting ready, then you stay up some more playing these games, maybe all week. Wearing gas masks in 95 degree heat with all your combat crap on OVER your uniform. After that well who knows. Anyway thats why I was delerious and not reading dates and stuff.

Yup, know them all to well :roll: And yup, dun'm in the desert in full MOPP gear (the older charcoal suits) as well :sa: !!!

For the non-initiated ... Operation Readiness Inspections. Not too sure it's a futile exercise though. "Train like you fight, fight like you train." Not to say I liked them, but they are a necessary evil. It's the Exam portion that pissed me off the most I think (ORE). A written test to make sure that you have forgotten all the BS they taught and not remember what the REALITY of the task is.
