Goose I think it's pretty damn trick.. and thanks for taking the heat off me an my red blocked AMC.. Thought I was the only one..
MaxW the starter dose it ! I will need to cut down the one bulge 1/2" sorry #-o from now on I will make shure all fits before I post.
MaxW Pulled the 360 out of my 73 AMX to mock -up the pan with the bulge's. Trimed the one bulge down3/8 to 1/2 to fit starter. installed motor and trans, had to remove trans dip stick tube in order to have the room for the pan bulge to clear the cross member. All works with stock exhaust.
Mudrat PKzJavelin ... WOW!!! I am more than impressed!!!! Outstanding work and some inventive engineering :lo1l:
MaxW The 72 sst now has the 401 in it. :lo1l: I have 4 years time into this day. IF YOU DONT LIKE RED AMC.....TO BAD I LOVE IT 8)
AMX69PHATTY Hey PKzJavelin looks pretty cool. What rear gears ya plannin on runnin' ? Shootin' for maybe 450+ HP ? Gonna do a chassis dyno pull ? Guess in California ya don't have to worry that it's gettin' bout time for snow..... Has anyone else heard that it's "risky" to lift AMC motors by bolts in the ends of heads ? On one end of the head castings there aint much casting around the bottom corner head bolt and right behind that bolt head is a machined corner that can crack. Or is this just some more ol' AMC fantasy folklore ? If you need a new Heater Valve that goes in the rear Pass side of the intake, there's a source in Ohio, or a supplier called Four Seasons may offer them. That is if AMC stilled used a cable controlled heater valve in '72.
