I'm looking for a 401 for my CJ7. I've been talking with a guy that has one for sale for $2K.
Specs are:

About 10K on the rebuild. It's been pulled, and I can't check it out in person. Seems like a good price for what I'd get. My other option is to go with a virgin block near me, and build it. I'd probably spend a lot more than $2K, I'm guessing.
Typical use will be for street driving with the ocassional mild trail. Anything in this setup to be worried about? The only thing that I am leery of is that the owner said he had an oil pump go out about 1K ago, and had his machine shop pull the engine apart to inspect.. supposedly found no damage, and reassembled with new oil & h2o pumps. Seems like a reasonable story .. and you don't ever really know what you're getting in someone else's build anyway.. any thoughts on this setup?
