rollbar I have to take the CJ8 & go from a SOA to a SUA   :(: :banghead: :angry1: due the the house I just bought. With the garage door @ 7' I don't think it will fit. I'm using the rear CJ springs in the front & yJ springs in the rear & I have the wider spring perches welded on the top of the axles for the wider springs. Now my question is can I keep the original CJ perches (factory) & just go SUA w/the wider spring & spring plates. It should line up w/the center bolt correct? Thanks, RollBar
tufcj It should work. The only problem would be if you ground the passenger front side down to get the SOA u-bolt around it. Other than that, everything should line up with wider spring plates. You might even consider a u-bolt flip kit to keep the nuts on top. Bob tufcj
rollbar Good thought, I think I'm gonna go w/the flip kit but I'm gonna measure the door one more time. I hear some say they are fitting into a 7' opening w/ 35's. HUMmmm. Thanks, RollBar
tufcj My Jeep would fit my 6 1/2' garage door with stock YJ springs and 35s as long as I dropped the center support for the soft top, wouldn't fit with the extra ~1" of the hard top. When I went to 2" lift springs and 37s, it won't make it. It would be VERY close on a 7' door now, but I've never measured. Bob tufcj
