I just picked up a freshly ground 360 crank, got it home, and am now puzzled. The back of the crank is smooth. there's a hole for the pilot bushing, and mounting holes for the flywheel/flexplate, but no centering boss on the crank. What do I have? Could this be 343 or 390? It is a cask crank.

Could Be 343 , But it could be a 70/71 360 also. The locating ring started with the torqueflight in 72 model year.
The crank that you have is for a Borg W.

It is cast, but don't know what year. The casting number on the crank is 3195292 if this helps?

My book lists that casting # as a 70-71 304CI cast unit. It will work in a 360 if balanced correctly, since the journals and stroke are the same. Like stated above, the pre 72 cranks have a different flange since AMC was using a BW trans. It can be machined to accept a TF or TH trans. Dimensions are out there on the net somewhere.
