Alright, what are the differences between the various members of the torqueflite family...904,998,727? Yeah, I am aware I could google search for the info, but that wouldn't benefit the forum :idea:

Good quetsion, and I have the same one. I'm not sure which 900 series I have in the YJ - haven't been able to determine (and I DID Google), and I was initially looking for a 727 for the waggie, but wanted the overdrive the 727 doesn't have.
So my next question is, "What really is a direct swap for the above mentioned trannies?" :-|

i don't think there is a direct swap od trans, :-| probally would have to use a g.m. trans and t-case with an adapter, this has been covered in the tech section at www.ifsja.org :t:

Thanks Chad, I'm back to the original plan of using the 360 in the CJ since I found the HD AMC20 axle I got was toasted.
