priming the pump

i've tried to search this but keep coming up that the article is no longer available. i've just rebuilt my 304 and i'm about to install it and fire it up for the first time. i have an extra distributor, how can i use it to prime the pump? TIA

either grind the teeth off the dizzy gear or install it gearless and run a drill on the business end of the dizzy shaft. Clockwise will get you pumping...let it pump for at least 30 seconds
