Yea, they use the same transmissions with the 2wd tailhousings and outputs. You could use the tranny thats in it but you would need the tailhousing and output shaft from a 4wd version then take your tranny apart and swap the output shaft then bolt on the 4wd tailhousing. If the tranny from the parts rigs is still good I would just grab it and swap the whole thing, it would probably be a lot easyer and mabey cheaper, cause it would be hard to find just the tailhousing and output for a 4wd version. I forgot about the rear driveshaft. Since now you will have a transfer case your rear driveshaft will be too long, witch is a good thing becasue you can have it shortend for a lot cheaper than buying a new one, or finding one from a 4wd MJ. The only thing is you might have to find the correct yoke for the output on the transfer case (should be a NP231 with a slipyoke) I dont think the 2wd trannys would use the same slip yoke, but that shouldnt be too hard to find because lots of people convert their YJ's to fixed yoke rear output and use a new CV driveshaft and will practicaly give their old one away, and it would have the correct yoke for the NP231.
