MrFurious wroteJust an update on this. Originally planned to go with a Performer intake, but ended up with an Air Gap after getting a great deal on it (stole it would be more appropriate!). Since my 360 came with the 2bbl carb, Edelbrock tells me I'll need the Throttle Bracket Extension Plate (P/N 8034). I'm assuming the mod MC mentioned above will still be required, so rather than modifying the throttle linkage on the carb, I'll probably just make my own relocation bracket out of thicker stock, which will raise the throttle bracket and move it forward in one piece. Anyone see a problem with this idea? Also, will the rig having factory cruise control have any affect on this?
On a side note, I do have two questions regarding the intake install since Edelbrock's directions give very little information...
1) I assume the 3/8" boss on the front of the intake is for the EGR CTO valve. Since this is a non-EGR intake, I don't see any need for a CTO valve, so can I just install a hose barb here to run a vacuum line to the carb?
2) There is a 1/8" NPT boss on the runner going to cylinder #7, and a 3/8" NPT boss on the #8 runner. I know the 3/8" boss is for the PCV vallve, but what's the one on #7 for and where's it go?
Thanks in advance...
The threaded holes in the back are for the vaccum line for a TH400. The front has one tapped hole to mount the coil and the other for a coolant sensor. the third in the front...if you have it can be plugged
