Should the rear main seal leak on a rebuilt motor durring break in? Mine started leaking a few drops after the first couple of days and now its been a week and it is still dripping a little on the garage floor over night. Not bad, just 3 or 4 drops. Is this normal??

Might be the oil pan...maybe even after the RTV set up they missed tightening the rear bolts :-|

I HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN TO ME, BUT NOT SINCE I STARTED PAYING STRICT ATTENTION TO THE FACTORY METHOD OF INSTALLING THE SEAL. YOU NEED TO SEAL THE CHAMFERED AREA OF THA MAIN CAP AS WELL AS THE PARTING FACES OR IT WILL RAIN OIL.

What oil are you using? Did you shear the top of the seal installing it? (thats common) You can use esther additive from Lucas that will swell it a little. (and thats the only time I will ever reccommend any lucas)
