Im also sad to hear that you had a bad expierence being a novice. When i rebuilt my 390 the forum was a lifesaver.... some of the guys i met on there were great! Even when i realized later that i asked a question that i could have had easily answered in the archives they just said to look it up first next time to save space but still answered my question.
OK, Since I spoke so opinionatedly (is that even a word?) before - I guess I should clarify. I was never booted, I was run off by lack of general courteousness. I earn my living in the service industry and was raised in the south, so common courtesy is somthing I expect from all people. If I am nice to someone, I expect the same in return. My mother would smack me up side the head if I ever even thought about being as rude as a select few were on the ***forums. For that reason I left. I went searching elsewhere on the net and found this forum.
I do not want to be misconstued - not everyone on that site was rude, but the few that were, spoiled it for me. I am happy here at Bulltear and they moderate it like I think a lot of the net should be moderated. Don't get me wrong, I think things like tshirthell.com are funny as can be due to their bluntness, but rudeness has no place in a place like an automotive forum. Hence why I don't ever post on pirate4x4. Sure, I will go there and search for info, but try to actually ask for info? Fa-get-a-bat-it.
Anywho, I hope this new site can contain all the great knowledge but without the attitude. I hope they succeed and never wish anything bad on anyone, but as the old saying goes.....what goes around - comes around.
Thanks for your honesty PPS, because of you I will at least go lurk at the new site and see how it pans out. :sa: Anywho, lets all get along and LONG LIVE AMC!!! :lo1l:

PS - Just picked up another engine stand for my 401 today, so as soon as I can talk Pat into bringing his engine hoist over, I will start working on my oiling mods for the machine shop!! Too bad I got side tracked by the grill and cold ones......
