tufcj wroteCool, wet air is more dense, so when weather is bad, you're getting more air (oxygen) into the engine. Your intake could possibly be starving it, or you could be WAY rich on your mixture, and the dense air is giving it enough to burn efficiently.
It's really hard to tell without an exhaust analyzer.
Maybe get an old Edelbrock water injection system?

I thought about putting a water spray system in if I couldn't figure out what could be wrong.
However your discription of the air/fuel mixture would make sence( I didn't know what was the mix of air/fuel).
Now I have something more to work from. My exhaust pipe is really quite black on the inside. I have been trying to get the right mix from the srews but it looks like I need to move to the lean/rich mixture on the choke side.
I dropped back to 1 1/2 rich so maybe I should drop a few more. I was running better with the move but maybe I didn't move it enough.
I might also try a different air cleaner for a while.
