I need an old style oil filter adapter for a AMC V8. The new style ones have no provision for the bypass. I prefer one without major gouges on the pump side, w ith or without relief valve.

How do I do that?
By the way here is my problem:
rebuilt 360, mint condition front cover with gear to wall clearance within spec. Aftermarket gear set. Housing machined for gear clearance of .007 above housing. I am using the later model adapter without bypass. When it's cold, the oil pressure is off the guage. Pins 80. As it warms up it drops to 20 and does not go up much.when the RPM increases. I know the issue is in the pump.

are you using a high pressure spring? Thats a no-no with a new style adaptor

I think so, it's the one that came with the gears. What effect does the non-bypass housing have.
