This is all for my Dads 304. He had the heads reconditioned, put a cam in the motor, new valves, valves springs, etc... They only thing original are teh rockers, rocker bridges, and pushrods. We have the motor running and they valve train was making a little bit of noise, we pulled the valve covers and found we could move the rockers around fairly easily by hand
Will new rocker, assemblys and pushrods fix this? Is there a place anyone recommends to buy these items from? How do we measure and be sure we get the proper length pushrods?
The last question we when we pulled the valve covers, there was some milky condensation under both them, and under the oil cap. There was no signs of mixing in the oil, or in the radiator. Could this be caused from the motor getting up to running temperature, and the cold air out? We did not have to motor running very long and did create a condition where condonsation could happen.
Thanks in advance for any help

I would bet that new rocker bridges would fix the prob, they did on mine,
mine were the aluminum bridges and they had worn enough to clatter, the new ones a a stamped steel piece with an aluminum pivot.
I got mine through P.A.W and they are like 2.31 a cylinder.
Same ol pushrods.. I did find that NAPA could get them about same price and performance am style too.

Yes pushrods wear, rockers....even a little wear can cause major clatter but it isnt critical believe it or not. Thats why mfg's have made thick valve covers for the AMC V8...however if it is too loud you may have a pushrod off.....to which I have done as well maybe 5 times

You should never reuse the stock retainers and locks. The locks will start to wallow down through the retainers, causeing loose rockers and bent pushrods.
