Wow!... I bet the loudest sound in the boat was everyones sphincters slamming shut..
I believe I would rather have faced the Russkies at the Fulda Gap than have been on that Boat when it hit..

The guy who died, died on the transit to Guam. He was injured on the initial impact. Over 30 others were injured.
The Sub hit an underwater sea mound. They are looking at the fact that the charts that the boat was using were out of date. Based on Photos, the sea mound that they hit was charted almost 5 KM from where they hit it. By their charts, they were more than clear of it. The captain of the boat has been removed from his Command until the inquiry is complete. Based on the final finding of the charts, he may not be charged with anything.
The crew is very lucky to have made it to Guam. I'm proud to say, that I know that their training took over, and they made it home.
