Flywheel bolts

someone asked me the other day about getting some replacement flywheel bolts for converting from auto to manual tranny. I suggested ARP but they werent any help for the guy nor was Jeep. Any suggestions or specs to help guide in the right direction. :t: Thanks

I'm sure there's a Milodon or ARP application. I'll see if I have a manual flywheel bolt in the cabinet, and measure it. Bob tufcj

flywheel bolts are just over 1" long flexplate bolts are just over 5/8" long maybe that helps

thanks, so does anyone offer the 6 bolt manual tranny flywheel kit or is it the same as a chrystler or GM manual flywheel bolt kit? I've never looked closely but are they tapered at all or are there any unique features, my old 354 hemi used tapered bolts so that is why i ask. D

I ordered some stock style bolts from there for my 401 flexplate from www.4wd.com . Don't forget that little piece of metal that sandwiches between the flex plate and the bolts. Sorry, forgot what it's called....

on the th-400 there is a ring that they used to help beef up around the bolts holes

Sorry, just got home. Yup fuzz, that is it. Didn't know if I should use it on the 727, so I used it anyway. My thought was bigger is better. It just goes around where the bolt holes are and I believe just reinforces that area. I did a google but couldn't find it on the net... :-| I'll see if I can dig up an old catalog and look for the name for ya. Jack

Car Craft.com - I did a google and found an article about Mopar Girl's 360 (figured that'd work for Jack) :? Yeah, I picked up a 401 to 727 flexplate from http://www.performanceamstyle.com. Here is the direct link to the part:

I also used a B&M Mega shifter and a Lokar kickdown cable.

1/2 -20 call ARP ask for the top fuel 1/2 by 1" long flywheel bolt kit comes with 8 bolts and they fit, work fine. :lo1l:
