Dangit I wish I had more time to turn wrenches. I picked up a set of 6:72-1 rockwell 2.5 tons for the postal jeep buildup. Dang things are heavy...heavy. For $1000.00 you cant go wrong. Spools are $200.00 for them or I could weld the schmitty out of them...not sure. The plan is a 4Link but I may have to stick to leafs untill spring or mid summer next year...cough cough...if I live that long :?: So now I have 3 weeks of heavy hours and no time for play.....shoot I want to get some big shoes for these axles..hhmmm pinion brake? :-|

We have lots of these in TX. Pinion brakes are the way to go, and you want a little air in your lines, or they'll just be on/off. Leaf springs won't last with the size of tires you'll want to run, and I'm sure you'll be sending about 400 hp to them too.

From what ive seen is that they wrap alot of a track or ladder bar is almost always needed if you choose leafs

Yes they're needed on both axles. Not because of the axle, but because of the tire size. Leafs won't last long with the bars anyway.
