They make repros of classic wheels. I ordered a set of 15x7 Magnum 500s from them. It took them 6 weeks to ship them. They sat 2 weeks in my garage while I waited for my tires to come in (Michelin Pilot XGTs, made in Brazil). I never opened 3 of the boxes, but all looked fine. I finally took them down to have them mounted on Friday, and one wobbles seriously.
I call them, and their first response is "file a claim with the carrier (DHL)". I explained that there was no damage to the box, it didn't look like it was dropped or anything. I couldn't even see any damage to the wheel, until I laid it on a flat counter top, then I could see a warp in the rear bead area. I told him we didn't even see it until it was on the spin balancing machine. His next response was "Our policy is no returns if they've been mounted." After some harsh words, and a request to talk to a manager, he begrudgingly gave me a return authorization. I shipped it back in the same box it arrived in, so they could see the box.
I had to pay return shipping, and included copies of the invoices, and a detailed letter telling what I found and what I would like (basically a new wheel in less than 6 weeks). I also stated that I'd like a call as soon as they looked at it, they received it today. We'll see.
What ever happened to customer service, or the customer is always right? I'm not trying to screw them on a $120 wheel. Just trying to get them to fix what I feel is a manufacturing error.

:? :? All is good. They called last week and said they couldn't explain the damage, but it looked like it happened at the factory before it was boxed. They apologized for the inconvenience, and immediately shipped a new wheel which I got Thursday.
That was all I was asking for, why did the rep on the phone make it so difficult?

I've been looking at there wheels for a while I'm thinking of getting a set of the chrysler rally wheels for my matador. Fortunatly they are a local company for me. Heck I've drive by the shop a lot of times with out knowing. Yeah I hate when that happens you trying to get something corrected and they treat you like your the problem. While I know your not out to try to rip them off there are lots of less scrupulus people that are but that doesn't justify the poor costomer service.
