Will I had a scary experience today that cost me some fenders :smile: 🙁: . Steep downhill, lost brakes, and alot of trees at the bottom. I don't know what is goin on but those ProComp Stainless brake lines have not been treating me very well. Think I should go the flatfender route or what???

at least you didn't have to avoid other cars, and mow down a stop sign like i did a while ago when i lost the brakes in my wag.

WTF! you got lucky bro. i would do a major trouble shoot on the brake system starting with the master cylinder then the brake booster! glad it was only sheet metal and not your body parts that got beat up. later, rollen :lo1l:

We came to the conclusion that a branch must of hit the brake line. It came off right at the caliper.

Did it shear off or seperate the brake line? I'd definately go back to ProComp and relate the story and the damage "from a tree branch". If they seperated/broke that easily, I would suspect a manufacturing defect which makes them liable for a major $$$ law suite!!!

I've got "Goodies" but haven't had them out on the trail yet.

i think that the material used to fab the line has to be defective. it should not have broke that easily.

I had one that seperated also. Came off right at the upper part. Looks like the connection between the crimp part and the threaded part was not strong enough.
