FrankNB I was shopping for a cheaper tool, just cause US exchange kills my wallet converted in Canadian funds.. anybody know if this could be used on AMC engines... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2485174105
jeepsr4ever basically if your going to use that you may as well use a screwdriver end. If it doesnt fit the timing cover or stay on the oil pump drive gear shaft it will cause problems.
FrankNB I knew you were going to say that.. now, I have no other option but to get the one you make.. :? I'll wait a few weeks, till I have fully absorbed the cost of the timing cover.. It shouldn't be much for shipping, I figure that thing is pretty light...
jeepsr4ever I will not push my goods generally, but i can tell you that sometimes priming that pump can be tricky, ive done about everything wrong i could priming that sum gun. broken screwdrivers, smoked drills, gouged pumps, ran them backwards before...everything... :!: thats why i invented the tools, it isnt really a new idea either
tufcj I made my own out of a junkyard distributor. I removed the distributor gear, cut the housing just above the hold down boss, and cut the shaft just below the mechanical advance weights. Ground 3 flats in a triangle on the shaft so the drill chuck wouldn't slip. I used it today. My new 390 came up to about 70 PSI using a very low speed 1/2" drill. Get to drop it in this weekend. :? :t:
