rollbar A 1996 Jeep Cherokee; 242? or 258?; auto; two door w/79,000 miles on it for $470 bucks. A older couple @ Church tonight told me that they got into a accident & the drivers side door & some inside stuff were damaged so the insurance co. totaled the Jeep & I bought it. I just have to wait untill they finishe the paper work etc. It's in excellent condition. It has FI, :t: RollBar P.S. It was their Sunday driver P.S.S. I will be parting it out.
rollbar Question: What rear did these come w/, the reason I ask is I looked under the Jeep Cherokee & it looked like a take off of the D-44 (the cover, not very well defined but looks kind of like a D44. Where the filler plug is there is a rubber plug to fill it. What size gas tank & canit fit into a CJ????????????? The tow truck driver droped it off & I cranked it up, put the A/C on & drove it to the back yard. 79,610 miles. The engine is tight. Damage: Drivers door & the door behind the driver; Drivers side front fender; the Hood up by the windshield/windshield broken. Everything else is A-1 condition (paint etc.), this was a garage kept Jeep, I know these people. The engine has two electric fans, I didn't know that. Color: Green; 4 Door; Hatch back; 242 4.0 H.O. Auto Trans 2WD. Parts are going up for sale, pics tomorrow. Thanks, RollBar
Trailbst Not 100% sure about a 1996, but a plastic plug is usually indicative of a D35 or 8.25. The D44 usually have a metal plug. What parts are you selling?? Erik
rollbar Trailbst wrote What parts are you selling?? Erik The whole Jeep in parts, parting it out. Pics tomorrow. Interior; exterior; everything except the rims & tires if they fit a CJ (there new, 5ea. w/alum Jeep rims). motor; tranny etc. etc.

Cj is 5x5.5 so the wheels wont fit. and in 96 I think the rear should be a dana 35 or an 8.25 like Erik said. THe 8.25 is more of an oval looking cover.
Trailbst How much for the seats and interior, If it is the same as a 97 or close, I know someone who is dying for them. Let me know. He has the cash and will buy right away. What color interior?? Tan?? Erik
rollbar P.S> All done on a $20.00 Wal-Mart camera. HA HA. I'll post the link for the slideshow on www.photobucket.com http://img59.photobucket.com/albums/v180/jbsgroup/Jeep%20Cherokee%201996/?action=view&slideshow=true
