rollbar I am getting ready to put the axles together in my daughters 80' CJ5 & I don't know what the axle is, I think it's a D-60????? FOrd???? No pic's but I'll descride it to you. Numbers first: 3-31=Gearing 43-13........43 is the ring gear count & 13 is the pinion count. What gears ratio is this. 3-31? 3241255 These are the numbers on the tag of a extra axle I have for it but it is identical to her front alxe. 43-13 So this is the front on hers. I have two carriers, one w/this ring gear, the other doesn't have a ring gear, it must be missing. I just want to match'em. Drivers side drop connected to a 208 t-case w/a T-999 tranny behind a modified 360 w/a Holly double pumper 4776-5 & a S-P-2P Edlebrock intake. (don't ask me why I bought it for her 111!!! ). 6 Lug bolt pattern on the outers The cover has 10 bolts there is a stamp on the top flat part of carrier housing= 222B It has a vacuum diaphram to actuate the 4x4 I think, it has 3 vacuum ports, two on top & one on the bottom of the vacuum housing. That's all I can tell ya. The rear looks like a AMC20 but it looks like it cam out of a waggy. It's beefy  . I'm trying to borrow a camera to take some pics. Thanks, RollBar
tufcj My bet would be that it's a Wagoneer vacuum disc Dana 44. Sounds like it has the entire Wagoneer drivetrain in it. The rear would be a flanged axle Model 20. I've never seen a Dana 60 front with anything but 8 lugs. Bob. tufcj.
rollbar That's what I'm leaning towards. I don't want to hook up the vacuum back up on this Jeep, is there a mod to do something like that etc. It's just the new frame; engine; tranny; t-case & axles installed right now, the body is off & getting ready for paint. Axles are torn down, I have to make sure that everything is there. RollBar 111!!!
pyagid they make thses to get rid of the vaccum set up for YJ's http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33728&item=2480800839 a lot of companies carry them and htey work really well. -Paul

rollbar Thanks, here's a shot of the axle w/a 20 dollar camera from wal-mart. Here's thr rear: Here's the holly:
Trailbst Spend the $150. Otherwise, you'll have to put a plate over it, and then spend a bunch of money to have the axle machined to accept an inner bearing, and axle shaft. Erik
