going to hook up the wife's old dishwasher in the basement it's right by the water heater and floor drain, and my water heater is set damn hot, keeping it in the house so i don't have to worry about freezing in the winter. :t: anyway has anyone used these for parts, and what works good for soap? :-|

hey good idea.
I would think that a heavy degreaser would work good however keep in mind that the old water gets sent to your septic..if you have one

Maybe something like Simple green. You would not wants something that Foams up a lot like normal Dish soap. Ever put normal dish soap in a dishwasher and see what happens?? I watched my Uncle do it 1 time and there was Foam and soap EVERY WHERE. Also like MC said if you have a septic you may not want this debre running though there.

That a good idea. I got an old ringer washing machine that I use to wash my real dirty and greases stuff. I put it on it own septic tank.

thanks all, i was thinking of running the drain into a 5 gal bucket near the floor drain. there's some new dawn power desolver gel that comes in spray bottles, but is supose to be ok for the washer also i'm going to try that. :t:
