On Board Welders

With all this welder talk I was wondering if anyone knows of one that would go in the place of my stock AC pump on the 2000 TJ motor. I have looked at the premier but that replaces your alternator, and with extra lights and stuff on the jeep that is something I need anyway but I would like the welder not tied into my charging system if at all possible.... what have you all seen?

Found one other than Premier Power Welder, called Zena Welders They can be run independant of your charging system or as your alternator. 36mo warranty even if used in an industrial application. Gotta get some measurements and see it one would work in the stock AC pump location. Any one heard good or bad about them?

I run an older Mobi-Weld (www.mobi-arc.com). It's saved out butts several times on the trail. Mine is put in place of the alternator. In normal mode it's a 90 amp alt. In weld mode, the charging system is cut out, and it puts out about 135 amps for welding. It produces a very high frequency arc that strikes easily, and welds well even on dirty metal.

Mine has to be manually switched, I've heard the new models are automatic.
