Got a "new" 401 in the works, here are the specs so far...
1975 401 block, boiled, magna fluxed, .030 over, crank ground .010/.010, align honed, decked just enough to make true(unsure how much), new cam bearings, stock rods(shotpeened and weight matched) resized with new ARP bolts, TRW L2380F pistons, Moly rings, Whole rotating assembly balanced.
Heads are 6291-Cs havent done anything to them yet but intend to go 7/16 studs, hardened seats, and SBC valves(smaller stem diameter than AMC) and Erson 1.6 roller rockers.
Cam is yet to be determined but I will probably go with a HYD. in the 272 range I'd like to go roller but funds wont allow.
Intake is a Torker, havent decided on carb yet.
This whole setup will go in front of a TH-400 with a moderate stall, then drop the whole works into my 1971 Javelin.
I think this will make a fun combo for cruise nights and the occasional trip down the 1/4 mile.

Sounds amazingly similar to my setup, except for the cam and tranny (268H and a 727) and the car (72), otherwise pretty similar. Hmmmm.... Great minds think alike.
