what is the correct way to remove lower steering shaft from steering colum shaft i took bolt out and tried to slide it didn,t go then i tapped it with hammer moved alittle kind of tight don,t want to mess it up i need to change the berring & berring retainer where the steer shaft meets colum shaft my book dosen,t cover this

the only way to do it is to losen the column

Just FYI for anyone else in your situation, how did you get it out? I think I used a pickle fork if I remember correctly. Probably not the best solution, but it worked.
