a local paper had an add in it 86 wag $100, i'm thinking this can't be right, because it also said many new parts. called the guy and it was right, he said it had a worn out front hub and needed a driver's door. i asked if it could be driven, he said he wouldn't recommend it. anyway i get there it runs but kind of ticky in the motor, said he did the timing chain, water pump, and new pickup coil in the dist, and timing wasn't set, driver's window broken out, and it's 36 and raining! and expired plates. i pay him get the title, and i'm on my way, i start heading for the back way out of town, and get into a construction area and almost get lost. well i get out of town on a dirt road, and i really have to empty the bladder, can't get either front door open, so i go out the broken driver's window dukes of hazzard style, my who is following in my blazer walks up and opens it from the outside 111!!! . it's running ok but i can tell that the timing is off and it loades up some of the time. so i get to the next tar road and did i nice burnout, get home and wheeled it a little in the mud and snow. i'm not sure what i'm going to do with it, the body is junk, it has some frame rot by the gas tank, but fixable i think, depends what i find for a body i guess. :mrgreen:

oh taz a joint project? sounds like a candidate for a drivetrain to me!!

well now i have a running motor, a t-18/208, 3/4 ton axles, 2 good pickup frames, 1 good 75 chero frame, no one makes lift springs for that frame though, and a fixable wag frame, so it jus drpend on what i find for a body.

Fix the frame, chop the top, remove the doors, build a full cage and wheel the piss out of it.

I JUST WANT TO GET SOMETHING STARTED, I'M THINKING MAKE IT DRIVEABLE, AND FIX ALL BUT THE BODY, THEN GO FROM THERE. THE MOTOR DOES HAVE A CLATTER, IN THE VALVE TRAIN IT SOUNDS LIKE, IT'S BEEN A WHILE SINCE I'VE BEEN IN ONE OF THESE MOTORS, I'M THINKING THE ROCKER PIVOTS ARE WORN.
