AMC V8 oil pump midplate (New Upgraded!!!!)

Here they are, 304 stainless steel midplates that sandwich between the timing cover and oil filter adaptor. These are made using 304 stainless and a many many times harder than the aluminum surface of the oil filter adaptor. This is a great upgrade for any AMC V8 and can ensure a long lasting oil system for years to come. Plates are $33.oo each. Please email orderbulltear@yahoo.com for orders and questions.

This plate is port matched and gasket matched on the outside! A very nice tough piece for extending the life of your oil pump!!

I have seen this now hear and there. What exactly will this due for the oil pump? What kinda testing has been done. And could this make this place more friction on the drive gear and cam gear? Yes I'm new, sorry if its been covered already. Thanks 8)

Those are some good valid questions, Here are the answers 1.This takes the place of the aluminum face of the bottom oil pump cavity and ensures a longer life of the AMC oil pump (V8). The aluminum is actually the top of the oil filter adaptor and is prone to heavy gouging and when it gouges it decreases the amount of moving oil and pressure in your crankcase (Bad). 2. This reduces friction by being many many times harder than the aluminum and not prone to heavy gouging and scratching that causes grit to settle in the bottom of the oil pump and cause rapidy degredation of the oil pump itself and in all cases increases teh life of the oil pump on the AMC V8 3. I looked at that website about using the 318 oil pump gears, could you use your midplate, make it thick enough to allow for a recess for the longer gears, and still have the SS bottom. That might be a little hard to understand what I am saying, but it seems like a very good idea (to use those gears) to make a high volume pump. I am new to this forum, I am impressed by your products. I know I only have AMC cars, but I also drive a 4.0 Grand Cherokee, hopefully you guys will still accept me :lol:

heck yeah , its great to have you here!!! Note: Using 318 gears takes a special setup and if you simply recess teh midplate can you guarantee a perfect fit with the recess, You will find that most guys who offer this use dowel pins for location and do not rely on clearence holes for 1/4-20 bolts (the bolts that hold the midplate). It is a very difficult thing to do, ive done it a dozen times and shake my head each time its done, thats why i invented these high volume gear sets...... due out soon

You know I have done it but no pics and i have pics from the website.....hMMMM if i rememebr right it was $490 for the mod.....try a google search for AMC midplate

This kit cost $58.00 and includes the bolts. Are there any issues using this with the Milodon external oiling system? Are you going to create a kit that would include the longer bolts used by the milodon external pickup and at what cost? Thanks, Mark
