I am asking all persons here what would help this forum
Floridajeeper
Have you listed this site at Top4x4Sites.com?
Also...come over to www.floridajeepers.net and register. Then PM me (Frank) to get access to the "Commercial Ads" section and list your site there for the products that you offer. Many of our guys participate on several forums!

I think for a new list you have a great start.
I would keep this AMC specific, because there are a lot of people out there looking for good places to find AMC. While I'm not against Chevy, per say, i am tired of sifting through the guys who are Chevy swavy and think that their ideas will and can be easily impressed upon the AMC.
I dont know as much as you guys, but I whole heartedly support your dreams. And if I could have connections to a machine shop, and the knowledge to do so, I would love to help you guys out.
Best regards,
Mike

An actual TECH section. Your write ups on "how-to-do" this and that within the forum is ok, but it is also confusing. Have a section that is specific to write ups on "How-to-do's" outside the forum. As you know there are more then one way to skin a cat. For example your Axle shortning process. You have a rather "unique" or might I say less common way of doing it. You blow the welds out at the pumpkin and cut the tube on the opisite side from what I have ever seen done before. Both work , but do a FULL write up about explaining how you went about it, steps that people can follow. Not just, take this off, cut this, reweld this. This, in itself will attract the DIY'ers and those are the members you are looking for. They will have questions and they will have answers for topics. THIS is what the forum is for. Discussion about mods and tips on how to make an AMC oiling system better are all things that people getting into Jeeps will want to know how to do, give them a place where that can do some "one stop shopping" next thing you know everone is linking http://www.bulltear.com to there messages saying "Go here for a good write up and forum on how to do this" .
MC you know how to do alot, and you are a skilled machinest, if you sit down and write about the process you go through to mod and axle, or an easy CJ brake upgrade, etc, these are the things that will bring people to your site and hopefully buy some of your products, and well if they don't they can at least learn something in the process and spread the word. Hey that MC guy makes some KICK ASS D60 high stear arms (HINT HINT).

i think one thing that would help this board is to get rid of old post.
you have post on here almost a year old, i started to reply to a post yesterday and then relized it was from dec 2002. maybe there should be a 2 month max for a post to be on the board.

I would argue againts removing old posts. There is a lot of good info in some of the older posts and to remove them would be bad. Many newbies can learn alot from reading older posts. I would suggest however creating an archive of posts that are older than a year. That way they are still readable and acessable to everyone, but it may help remove a little clutter. I don't know if the archive could exist in each index so they are still sorted by category. (sub-folder in each category). If there would only be one big archive that everything gets dumped into, that would also be bad.
By the way, I really like the new Index with more sub-categories.

I sorta favor moving the old posts to an archive section with the tech stuff in it's own place for reference. I know I've gone back to look for things, but forgot where they were!

Maybe try doing a poll to find out how the current members found this site, or why they are still here. I saw the link in MC's profile on another forum, and just clicked expecting to find some sort of "MC's Jeep Page" and here I am. Just get the word out, and it will explode.

The progression of the forum has progressed a great deal since I became a member. The request for an archives section is a good one also. I like this forum because everyone easily helps each other bantering aside. Some boards just tear into ya and give little help. Moderators keep up the good work, this is a comfortable place to learn all about my new addiction to pain and wallet thinning disease and thanks for the help everyone. :lo1l:
